Dr.Varsha obtained her Master of Science Degree in Biotechnology from Banaras Hindu University (BHU), Varanasi and Ph.D from Dept. of Genetics, Osmania University, Hyderabad. During her Ph.D research work, she studied the genetic variation in south Indian populations. She has also obtained MBA degree in Human Resource Development. She joined CDFD in 1997 as Staff Scientist in Laboratory of DNA Fingerprinting and analysed several civil and criminal cases using DNA Fingerprinting technology. Later she moved to Science Communication division and heading the section since 2016.
